VOLUNTEERS

There are many volunteers who have made this event a huge success over the years. Without their efforts and dedication to the Charity Challenge, this event would not be what all of you have helped it to become.

The Charity Challenge competition is a huge undertaking that takes many months of preparation and planning. It also takes a small army of volunteers the weekend of the competition to make this event a success. We have learned a lot since our first event in 1997. Many of the following have been involved since the beginning. As chairman of the Charity Challenge I would like to recognize and thank the following people:

For much time and effort long before the event date.......

Bob Darling (MA) -- Co-chair of the event, site and field, equipment procurement, course design, phone calls and everything else that needs to be done
Don Herzog (MA) -- Treasurer of the event since the beginning and course set up
Nick Schenk (MA) -- Webmaster, score keeper, and pro
gram book development
Denis Litalien (ME) -- Complete trophy ordering, set up and registration booth
Debbie Litalien (ME) -- Driver pre-registration

Anna Marie Lewis (ME) -- Raffle item procurement, sponsorship chairman
Nate Lewis (ME) -- Non-CDL driver's course, preparing written tests, course setup
Jim Dolliver (MA) -- Phone calls and visits to companies to promote the Charity Challenge, official Charity Challenge announcer, course setup

On the weekend of each Charity Challenge...

Lowell Crouse(MA), Rich Sweeney (MA), JR Noel (MA), Karen Tierney (MA) -- Managing the equipment area with 100+ drivers
Debbie Schenk & Sandy Herzog (MA) -- verifying the thousands of dollars the drivers have raised
Debbie Litalien (ME), Claudette Lewis (ME), Anna Marie Lewis, Linda Rafeal -- Registration, Information Tent and Raffle

Roland Bolduc (CT)
-- Course steward and the Master of Ceremonies for the award presentation.
Bill Blanchette (MA) -- Course steward. Bill procures all of the food and is on hand for set up the day before the event
Benny Zadrozny, Dale Willson & Tim Carlin (CT) -- The Connecticut drivers association sets up and runs the Pre-trip Inspection
Mickey & Linda Rafeal (NH)
-- The Rafeals take care of the raffle table for the day
Al & Lynn Charbonneau, Pete & Cynthia Mesick, and Bob & Carol Lyman (NY) -- The New York drivers association mans the food tent
Randy DeVault (ME) -- supplying the MMTA trailer for the office
JR Noel (MA) -- Spend a few days cutting the weeds at the site, being on hand for the course set up, and working the equipment area during the competition.
Ed Bacon (MA) -- Course setup
Bob Quinn (MA) -- Bob has run the kids bike competition every year
Candy Huscha-Darling, Mary, Nina & Beverly Darling (MA) -- Planning and running the kid’s craft area and activities
